GIANO OSINT, source reliability scoring, social-source handling

How GIANO handles social-source OSINT

Social reporting is often fast, but it is not automatically reliable. GIANO treats social-source OSINT as a lead until it is corroborated by trusted reporting or reviewed by an analyst.

Visible warnings

Social-source events receive a Social (unverified) label. On the map, the marker is split: one side keeps the event category color, the other side shows the social-source color and an S.

Source links stay attached

Every event preserves the primary source link, including off-map events that do not have a confident geotag. Analysts can open the source and verify the claim directly.

Briefing discipline

Daily Theater Briefs and Executive Briefs use reliable, least-biased reporting. Social-source claims can inform triage and collection, but they are not treated as confirmed facts without corroboration.
